The Business Experience

Business Experience

For the past three years, Macmillan Education has been running a competition for aspiring businessmen and women across the globe.

We offer two weeks’ work experience in our Oxford offices, meaning winners have the opportunity to discover how an international company functions, understand the publishing process and gather invaluable insights into working life.

Each year we set a business task, supported by The Business series, and choose winners in early July. The winners then come to our offices in August.

Sadly our winners for 2010, Michelle from Mexico and Eva from Albania, were denied visas to travel to the UK. We hope to welcome them still to our UK offices but please take note of this when entering the competition… visa and immigration laws are not set by us and are out of our control.

We’ve set a really tough challenge this year… Find out how to enter and what you have to do for 2011.

KarinThe weeks of business experience I got at Macmillan Education definitely helped me professionally; I learnt a lot about the different types of jobs at a big publishing house and that insight helps me daily in my job. Not only did my English also improve, so did my self-confidence!” Karin, Sweden, 2008 winner.
