• BESIG 2012 Scholarship scheme: Czech Republic and Slovakia

    IATEFL BESIG has offered a number of international scholarships for delegates wishing to attend the annual conference over the last several years.

    The International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) Business English Special Interest Group (BESIG) and Macmillan Education are pleased to announce their Joint Local Scholarship Scheme. The aim is to assist participants from the Czech Republic and Slovakia to attend the 25th Annual International Conference in Stuttgart, Germany between the 16th and 18th November 2012.

    Scholarship Details

    Attendees from the Czech Republic and Slovakia are eligible for significantly reduced rates compared to the full rates of £110 and £160 for IATEFL members and non-members respectively. The rate for Joint Local Scholarship delegates for the full conference, including the reception on Friday, all the talks, workshops and exhibition, plus lunch on Saturday, is £36. The Scholarship attendance fee does not cover the optional pre-conference session on Friday (£15). The registration deadline is 31st August, but please contact Akos Gerold, the IATEFL BESIG Development Coordinator, as soon as you can as the number of places is limited to 32. This offer is open to IATEFL members and non-members alike. However, if you are a member, please quote your IATEFL ID number.


    Thanks to the generosity of members of English Language Teachers’ Association Stuttgart (ELTAS), a number of homestay places will be available to the Joint Local Scholarship attendees free of charge. These places will be allocated on a first come – first served basis. When applying for the scholarship, please indicate whether you would like to stay with a fellow EFL professional in the Stuttgart area.
